Texas Consulate Offers Free Legal Help for Brazilians

The Brazilian community in Texas is getting an important new resource: the Consulate‑General of Brazil in Houston will offer free legal consultations for residents seeking guidance on everyday issues such as immigration, labor rights and civil matters.

The consultations will take place on July 23 and July 30, with individual virtual appointments led by attorney Bruna Frota, who will answer questions and provide orientation tailored to Brazilians living in the United States.

Texas currently ranks 7th nationwide in Brazilian population, with more than 23,000 residents, a number that continues to grow thanks to job opportunities in energy, technology and healthcare.

To participate, residents must schedule an appointment through the consulate’s website: ec-houston.itamaraty.gov.br. Because the consultations are virtual, Brazilians from different cities — and even neighboring states — can take part.

The initiative aims to expand access to reliable legal information and strengthen support for a community that continues to grow across Texas.
