Second Suspect Arrested in $200K Armored Truck Robbery

Federal authorities in Florida have arrested a second suspect connected to the armed robbery that stole $200,000 from an armored‑truck courier in Marlborough, Massachusetts.

According to the U.S. Department of Justice, Helbert Oliveira, 47, has been charged with armed robbery and conspiracy — both federal offenses handled by U.S. prosecutors.

The crime happened on November 18, 2025, when an armored‑truck employee was making a routine delivery between a currency‑exchange business in Framingham and another location in Marlborough. During the route, a man approached the courier, displayed a handgun, grabbed the bag of cash, and fled.

The first suspect, Curt Porcher, was arrested in February and accused of driving the vehicle used to approach the victim.

Security footage shows a man dressed in black opening the courier’s car door, pointing a pistol, and pulling the money bag before running away.

Investigators say Oliveira is believed to be the person who carried out the robbery. Although his face does not appear in the footage, police traced a black Nissan Rogue — rented by Oliveira — following the armored‑truck route almost entirely.

The charges he faces carry penalties of up to 20 years in prison and a $250,000 fine. Oliveira has already made his initial court appearance in federal court in Florida and is expected to be transferred to Boston, where the case will be prosecuted.
