Paolo Zampolli’s Remarks About Brazilian Women Spark Controversy

Businessman Paolo Zampolli drew widespread criticism after making comments about Brazilian women that were described as derogatory and dismissive. His remarks focused primarily on his ex‑wife, Brazilian model Amanda Ungaro, with whom he was married for nearly two decades.

The controversy intensified because Amanda was deported from the United States in 2025 after being detained on fraud‑related accusations. Zampolli has publicly denied any involvement in the deportation process.

The former couple shares a 15‑year‑old son and is currently engaged in a custody dispute in U.S. courts. Amanda has accused Zampolli of domestic violence and abusive behavior, allegations he denies. Zampolli, a longtime associate of Donald Trump, was appointed Special Envoy for Global Affairs in 2025.
